Regular Season Round 5: Danang Dragons - Can Tho CF 74-93

Bottom-ranked Danang Dragons (0-5) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to third ranked Can Tho CF (3-2) 93-74 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Can Tho CF. Danang Dragons managed to win second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Can Tho CF forced 26 Danang Dragons turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Tan Dinh-Duy (192-95) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 steals. Dinh Thanh chipped in 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Canadian center Rudolphe Joly (208-92, college: Sheridan JC) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) and American point guard Horace Nguyen (178, college: Bristol) added 30 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Can Tho CF maintains third place with 3-2 record behind leader Saigon H. Defending champion Danang Dragons still closes the standings with five games lost. Can Tho CF will meet at home Hochiminh CW (#5) in the next round. Danang Dragons will have a break next round.
