Regular Season Round 1: Castelldefels - Girona Basquet 67-81

But Castelldefels was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Girona 81-67 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Girona Basquet. Castelldefels was better in third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Castelldefels to just 2 points in first quarter. It was a great shooting night for Girona Basquet especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. David Cuellar (192-97) fired 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Xavier Costa (192-84) chipped in 10 points. Four Girona Basquet players scored in double figures. Forward Jordi Boronat (-85) produced 15 points and guard Jaume Torres (187-83) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Girona Basquet will face Vive El Masnou (#6) in Barcelona in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Castelldefels will play on the road against Arenys (#1) in Arenys del Mar and hope to win that game.
