The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Saigon Heat as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Saigon Heat defeated 4th placed Hanoi B. at home 84-77. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 44-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Saigon Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American center Darius Lewis (211-94, college: Duquesne) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Ngoc Tu-Le (179-90) chipped in 30 points and 5 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Dutch point guard Vincent Nguyen (178-95) responded with 20 points and 9 assists and American Jordan Collins (208-82, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saigon Heat have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Hanoi B. at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Hochiminh CW. Hanoi B. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Saigon Heat will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Hanoi B. on the road.
