Regular Season Round 9: NLEX RW - Star Hotshots 93-101

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Star Hotshots (7-4) beat 6th ranked NLEX RW (7-4) in Makati City 101-93 on Sunday. Star Hotshots forced 20 NLEX RW turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Star Hotshots especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American-Icelandic forward Kristofer Acox (198-93, college: Furman) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Peter Simon (183-82) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Star Hotshots players scored in double figures. American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-89, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Alex Mallari (193-87, college: Lewis-Clark St.) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for NLEX RW. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Star Hotshots moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated NLEX RW.
