Date: September 30, 2017
Top Division Women top team - Kangoeroes (4-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked Jeugd Gentson (0-3) 42-30. It looked good early as Jeugd Gentson took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kangoeroes had a 25-11 second period charge getting the lead and Jeugd Gentson was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 30-42. Kangoeroes dominated down low during the game scoring 34 of its points in the paint compared to Jeugd Gentson's 4. The winners were led by Heleen Adams (172-94) who scored that evening 9 points and 6 rebounds and American-Cameroonian center Brittany Starling (183-94, college: USC Upstate) supported her with 12 points. Even 12 points by the former international power forward Anne-Sophie Strubbe (184-90) did not help to save the game for Jeugd Gentson. Point guard Emma Uittenhove (167-96) added 4 points for lost side. Jeugd Gentson's coach Wesley Wauters rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kangoeroes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Sint Katelijne. Jeugd Gentson at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Kangoeroes will play against B.Willebroek (#5) at home in the next round. Jeugd Gentson will play against Belfius Namur (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
