Regular Season Round 7: Saigon H. - Hochiminh CW 74-79

Saigon Heat (5-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Hochiminh CW (3-4) 79-74. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Saigon Heat. Hochiminh CW forced 30 Saigon Heat turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Saigon Heat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Manh Luong-Chi fired 26 points for the winners. Paul Chong (184) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American David Arnold (188, college: Mont.St.-Billings) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the former international point guard Ngoc Tu-Le (179-90) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Saigon Heat players scored in double figures. Hochiminh CW moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hanoi B. Saigon Heat at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Hochiminh CW is looking forward to face higher ranked Can Tho CF (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saigon Heat will have a break next round.
