Regular Season Round 1: Aomori Watts - Shinshu BW 65-72

An interesting game for Shinshu BW (2-0) which played road game in Aomori against Aomori Watts (0-2). Shinshu BW managed to get a 7-point victory 72-65. Shinshu BW forced 19 Aomori Watts turnovers. American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Shinshu BW's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and guard Daichi Shimoyama (181-89) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Aomori Watts in the defeat. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aomori Watts will play again against Shinshu BW (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
