Bologna used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Roma 87-57 on Saturday night. Bologna dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Roma SRB's 36. Bologna forced 21 Roma SRB turnovers and outrebounded them 36-21 including 17 on the offensive glass. Roma SRB was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international point guard Raelin DAlie (168-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and power forward Marta Meroni (185-93) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Bologna players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Quenn-Ezinne Nnodi (190-89) responded with 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and power forward Laura Gelfusa (185-79) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bologna will face Spezzina (#15) in La Spezia in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Roma SRB will play at home against Umbertide and hope to win that game.
