Regular Season Round 1: Miasto Szkla - GTK Gliwice 82-76

Miasto Szkla used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Gliwice 82-76 on Saturday night. GTK was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 26-17 charge of Miasto Szkla, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Miasto Szkla especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 assists for the winners and American forward Jayvaughn Pinkston (201-91, college: Villanova) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Czech forward Lukas Palyza (202-89) responded with 19 points and American center Maverick Morgan (208-94, college: Illinois) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Miasto Szkla will face Anwil in Wloclawek in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. GTK will play on the road against Rosa (#11) in Radom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
