Host Nova Ves (1-0) defeated Rieker KN (0-1) 91-78. Nova Ves made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Rieker KN outrebounded Nova Ves 43-31 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Canadian point guard Michael LAfricain (185-92, college: Ottawa) fired 22 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Canadian forward Matt Marshall (198, college: Brock) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Nova Ves' coach Erich Korfanta used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovenian guard Boban Tomic (190-88) produced 26 points and American forward Miles Bowman-Jr (198-93, college: High Point) added 11 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Nova Ves and four Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Nova Ves will meet Handlova (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rieker KN will play against Levice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
