Maquinaria Ensino used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Oviedo 81-53 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Maquinaria Ensino led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Oviedo's 26. Maquinaria Ensino forced 19 Oviedo turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Regina Gomez (173-82, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Alicia Villegas (174-95) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Carolina Ramos (190-93) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Danish swingman Anne Pedersen (185-92, college: LSU) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) in the effort for Oviedo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maquinaria Ensino will face Real Celta Vigo (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Oviedo will play against Arxil Pontevedra and hope to win that game.
