Regular Season Round 4: Laarne - Waregem 69-95

Bottom-ranked Laarne (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to fifth ranked Declercq Stortbeton (3-1) 95-69. The game was mostly controlled by Declercq Stortbeton. Laarne was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Declercq Stortbeton dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Laarne's 36. They outrebounded Laarne 48-36 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American guard Jackie Nared (183-90, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds. The former international point guard Sien Devliegher (177-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Declercq Stortbeton players scored in double figures. Spanish guard Victoria Vine (173-95, college: Eckerd) replied with 28 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Tine Putman (170-82) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Laarne. Declercq Stortbeton moved-up to fourth place. Laarne at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Declercq Stortbeton's next round opponent will be Liege (#7) at home. Laarne will play against R.Spirou Monceau (#9) in Charleroi and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
