Civitanova used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Savonese 63-53 on Sunday night. Civitanova forced 40 Savonese turnovers. Point guard Margherita Mataloni (165-95) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists for the winners and Serbian power forward Kristina Ostojic (190-91) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side center Faidra Skiadopoulou (192-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Savonese's coach Vito Pollari rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Civitanova will face Orvieto (#4) on the road in the next round. Savonese will play against Empoli (#8) and hope to win that game.
