Regular Season Round 1: Almeria - Olimpico 64 69-60

Almeria used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Madrid 69-60 on Sunday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-14. But Olimpico 64 won third quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quite impressive performance for point guard Isabel Latorre (169-96) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Irene Herradas (186-78) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and power forward Julia Rabadan (180-86) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico 64. Olimpico 64's coach Javier Zamora tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Almeria will face Magec Tias (#11) in Las Palmas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olimpico 64 will play at home against Gran Canaria and hope to win that game.
