Regular Season Round 1: Banco di Srd - MIA-RO Cantu 94-80

Banco di Srd defeated MIA-RO Cantu in Sassari 94-80. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-80. Banco di Srd dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to MIA-RO Cantu's 40. They outrebounded MIA-RO Cantu 42-25 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Banco di Srd looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American-Kosovan Shawn Jones (203-92, college: Middle Tenn.St.) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. American guard Levi Randolph (196-92, college: Alabama) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Jaime Smith (190-89, college: Al.-Huntsville) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Five Banco di Srd and four MIA-RO Cantu players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MIA-RO Cantu will play next round against Vanoli Cremona trying to get back on the winning streak. Banco di Srd will try to continue on its current victory against Fiat TO in Torino.
