Regular Season Round 3: Niigata Albirex - Shimane SM 87-55

Niigata Albirex delivered the second consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed Shimane Magic (0-2) 87-55. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Shimane Magic was better in third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Shimane Magic to just 5 points in first quarter. Niigata Albirex forced 20 Shimane Magic turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Niigata Albirex especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Masashi Joho (183-82) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round. Shimane Magic will play at home against Tochigi Brex (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
