Regular Season Round 1: Gipuzkoa UPV - AE Sedis 72-68

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of AE Sedis (0-1) in San Sebastian on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Gipuzkoa UPV (1-0) 72-68. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But AE Sedis won third quarter 22-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Argentinian Lyndra Weaver stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Swedish guard Ellen Nystrom (185-93, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Five Gipuzkoa UPV players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Mehryn Kraker (183, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) responded with 14 points and Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) scored 13 points. AE Sedis' coach Joan Carles Pie rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gipuzkoa UPV is looking forward to face Sant Adria (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AE Sedis will play against Campus Promete and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
