Arxil Pontevedra used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Barcelona 68-46 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Arxil Pontevedra led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Segle XXI's 26. Arxil Pontevedra forced 27 Segle XXI turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Chilean power forward Narlyn Mosquera who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds. Arantxa Mallou (181-91) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Carolina Mateo answered with 12 points and forward Helena Pueyo (182-1) added 5 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Segle XXI. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arxil Pontevedra will face Oviedo (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Segle XXI will play against Aros Patatas (#1) and hope to win that game.
