Regular Season Round 1: Real Madrid - Andorra 94-88

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Andorra (0-1) on the court of Real Madrid on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Real Madrid 94-88. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Andorra won third quarter 25-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Andorra's 34. They outrebounded Andorra 40-19 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of French Fabien Causeur (195-87) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Mexican center Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Slovenian Jaka Blazic (196-90) answered with 20 points and American guard David Walker (197-93, college: Northeastern) added 13 points in the effort for Andorra. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Madrid is looking forward to face RETAbet BB (#16) in Bilbao in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Andorra will play at home against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#2) and is hoping to win this game.
