Regular Season Round 2: Hiroshima D. - Fukushima 75-89

Dragonflies (1-1) recorded a loss in Hiroshima on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by Fukushima (1-1) 89-75. The game was mostly controlled by Fukushima. Dragonflies managed to win second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) chipped in 20 points. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) produced 28 points (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima will meet at home Kagawa FA (#5) in the next round. Dragonflies will play against Iwate Big Bulls and hope to win that game.
