VBA round 8 most important game was a victory of Hanoi B. over 5th ranked Hochiminh CW 81-74 on Tuesday night. The game without a history. Hanoi B. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Hanoi B. forced 23 Hochiminh CW turnovers. Strangely Hochiminh CW outrebounded Hanoi B. 48-26 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dutch point guard Vincent Nguyen (178-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American Jordan Collins (208-82, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Hanoi B.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Bilal Richardson (203, college: N.Alabama) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and the former international point guard Han-Minh Trieu (178-87) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hochiminh CW. Four Hochiminh CW players scored in double figures. Hanoi B. (4-4) moved-up to third place, which they share with Can Tho CF. Hochiminh CW at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Hanoi B. is looking forward to face league's leader Thang Long W. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hochiminh CW will play against Danang Dragons (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
