Very predictable result when HBA-Marsky (2-0) rolled over on the road Jyvaskyla BA (0-2) 88-68 on Wednesday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. HBA-Marsky dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Jyvaskyla BA's 26. HBA-Marsky forced 20 Jyvaskyla BA turnovers. Forward Mikael Jantunen (203-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Elias Valtonen (198-99) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. Point guard Robert Juvonen (185-91) replied with 20 points and swingman Timi Puittinen (193-94) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Jyvaskyla BA. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. HBA-Marsky will face Pyrinto II (#8) in Tampere in the next round where they are favorite. Jyvaskyla BA will play on the road against Lahti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
