Bourges (0-1) recorded a loss on the court of Tarbes on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Tarbes 71-61. The game was mostly controlled by Tarbes. Bourges managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Tarbes won last quarter 17-9. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Tarbes outrebounded Bourges 37-24 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international center Christelle Diallo (193-93) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Adja Konteh (178-92) supported her with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tarbes players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Bourges. The former international Sarah Michel (180-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Tarbes will meet Lattes Montpellier on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bourges will play against Mondeville (#1) and hope to win that game.
