Regular Season Round 2: Unicaja - Burgos 93-72

Very expected game when Burgos (0-2) was crushed on the road by Unicaja Malaga (2-0) 93-72 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Unicaja Malaga. Burgos was better in fourth quarter 24-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Unicaja Malaga forced 20 Burgos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Burgos was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Jeffrey Brooks (203-89, college: Penn St.) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. Lithuanian forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and American-Georgian point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja Malaga will face Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in Madrid in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Burgos will play on the road against FC Barcelona (#1) and hope to win that game.
