Regular Season Round 3: Basket Gdynia - Gorzow Wlkp. 93-75

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (2-1) on the court of Basket Gdynia on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Basket Gdynia 93-75. The game was mostly controlled by Basket Gdynia. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski managed to win fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Basket Gdynia made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Kahleah Copper (185-94, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Victoria Jankoska (174-94, college: Michigan St.) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Four Basket Gdynia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Carolyn Swords (198-89, college: Boston Coll., agency: LBM Management) with 22 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international forward Paulina Misiek (182-87) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Basket Gdynia is looking forward to face JAS FBG (#12) in Sosnowiec in the next round which should be an easy win for them. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will play at home against Enea AZS P. (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
