Regular Season Round 3: Salon Vilpas - Kauhajoki 103-82

An interesting game took place in Salo where Kauhajoki (1-2) was upset on the court of Salon Vilpas (2-2) 103-82. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Salon Vilpas players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Kauhajoki's players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a good game for forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Flenard Whitfield (201-90, college: W.Michigan) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Marcus Allen (191-94, college: Stanford) added 17 points in the effort for Kauhajoki. Four Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salon Vilpas' next round opponent will be Joensuun Kataja (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kauhajoki will play against Lapuan Korikobrat (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
