Regular Season Round 3: Metropolitanos - Cangrejeros 81-72

Second defeat of league's leader Cangrejeros (3-2) against Metropolitanos (2-1) 81-72 was the most important game of the last round. Strangely Cangrejeros outrebounded Metropolitanos 35-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for international swingman Cesar Garcia (193-90, agency: Pro Sports) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Metropolitanos' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Anthony Perez (206-93, college: Mississippi) answered with 25 points and the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cangrejeros. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Cangrejeros will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Metropolitanos will try to continue on its current victory against Cangrejeros in Maturin.
