Regular Season Round 2: Stjarnan - Breidablik 79-65

An interesting game was also tough road defeat of Breidablik in a game versus Stjarnan (#8) 79-65. Stjarnan outrebounded Breidablik 49-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. American guard Danielle Rodriguez (178-93, college: Utah) notched 31 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and the former international center Ragna Brynjarsdottir (188-90) supported her with 9 points and 14 rebounds. Even 22 points by center Sollilja Bjarnadottir (171-95) did not help to save the game for Breidablik. Guard Telma Asgeirsdottir (171-93) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stjarnan will meet Njardvik (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Breidablik will play against Keflavik and hope to win that game.
