Regular Season Round 1: Rotterdam - Amsterdam 80-82
Date: October 7, 2017
Another exciting game where Amsterdam (1-0) edged by two points Rotterdam (0-1) 82-80. Rotterdam was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Rotterdam was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Amsterdam made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Dimeo Van Der Horst (197-91) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 assists. Center Berend Weijs (207-88, college: Maryland) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Amsterdam players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Commons (206-84, college: USC Aiken) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Robert Krabbendam (213-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Court Side) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rotterdam. Amsterdam will play against Groningen (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rotterdam will play against Zwolle and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
