Rather expected game in Kildare where NUIG Mystics (0-2) were defeated by Liffey Celtics (1-0) 63-52 on Saturday. Liffey Celtics outrebounded NUIG Mystics 56-27 including a 41-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Devon Brookshire (188-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jazmen Boone (173, college: William & Mary) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Liffey Celtics' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Kiera Gaines (180-93, college: Campbell) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Deja Bullock (183, college: La Salle) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Liffey Celtics will meet P.Panthers (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NUIG Mystics will play against Brunell in Cork and hope to win that game.
