Regular Season Round 3: Toyotsu FE - Ehime OV 85-96

Toyotsu FE (2-1) recorded a loss in Nagoya on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Orange Vikings (2-1) 96-85. The game was mostly controlled by Orange Vikings. Toyotsu FE managed to win fourth quarter 29-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Orange Vikings made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) helped adding 23 points and 4 assists. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Toyotsu FE's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Orange Vikings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyotsu FE will play again against Orange Vikings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
