Regular Season Round 2: Aalto-Basket - Bisons Loimaa 72-101

Very expected game when Aalto-Basket (0-1) was smashed by Loimaan Korikonkarit (2-0) in Espoo 101-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Loimaan Korikonkarit. Aalto-Basket was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aalto-Basket 52-31 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Loimaan Korikonkarit looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Josh Caldwell (203, college: William Penn) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Juho-Matti Henttonen (200-96) contributed with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Caldwell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Loimaan Korikonkarit players scored in double figures. Oliver Kaisti replied with 28 points and 8 rebounds and guard Rasmus Roslund (192-88) added 6 points in the effort for Aalto-Basket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Loimaan Korikonkarit will face Espoo Basket (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Aalto-Basket will play against Aanekosken Huima in Aanekoski and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
