Very expected game when Adelantados (0-2) was edged by Leganes (2-0) in San Cristobal 63-61 on Saturday. Adelantados was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 16-13 charge of Leganes, which allowed them to win the game. Adelantados was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Kiara Kudron (188, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Icelandic forward Hildur Kjartansdottir (188-94, college: UTRGV, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Korinne Campbell (184-88, college: W.Virginia) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and guard Patricia Benet (170-88) added 14 points in the effort for Adelantados. Five Adelantados players scored in double figures. Adelantados' coach Claudo Garcia tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Leganes will face Alcobendas (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Adelantados will play against Promete (#14) in Logrono and hope to win that game.
