Regular Season Round 6: Melsele - Gembo BBC 77-74

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Melsele (3-3) edged at home one of their biggest challengers Gembo BBC (3-2) 77-74 on Saturday. They outrebounded Gembo BBC 38-17 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Dutch power forward Patrick Hilliman (206-82, college: High Point) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Thomas Lamot (190-87) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Jens Bouckaert (-91) who recorded 21 points and point guard Philippe Peeters (188-95) added 13 points respectively. Melsele moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Neufchateau and Ninane. Loser Gembo BBC dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Melsele will face league's second-placed Waregem on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gembo BBC will play against Gent Hawks and hope to win that game.
