Regular Season Round 1: Ethnikos - Kastoria 78-75

An interesting game for Ethnikos (1-0) which hosted in Pireus Kastoria (0-1). Ethnikos managed to get a 3-point victory 78-75. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kastoria won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for Estonian point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Kostas Macheras (205-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Ethnikos players scored in double figures. Forward Giorgos Brozos (198-86, college: Furman) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and center Nikos Libaris-Psomas (210-84) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kastoria. Ethnikos will face Amyntas Dafnis (#10) in Athens in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kastoria will play at home against Doxa Lefkadas (#1) and hope to win that game.
