But Handlova was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Levice 91-79 on Saturday night. Levice dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Handlova's 36. It was a great evening for American center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie, agency: SDJ Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Bahamas forward Kentwan Smith (203-91, college: Stetson) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Levice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Jakub Novysedlak (189-93) with 14 points and Montenegrin Ivan Zejak (203-87) scored 18 points. Handlova's coach Krunoslav Krajnovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Levice will meet Zilina (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Handlova will play against Prievidza (#8) and hope to win that game.
