Regular Season Round 4: Wisla Krakow - TS Ostrovia 77-56
Date: October 7, 2017
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Wisla Krakow (3-1) smashed at home 10th ranked TS Ostrovia (1-3) 77-56. The game was mostly controlled by Wisla Krakow. TS Ostrovia was better in third quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by Lithuanian power forward Giedre Labuckiene (192-90) who scored that evening 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Magdalena Zietara (180-92) supported her with 12 points (made all of her seven free throws). Even 10 points and 8 rebounds by American center Breanna Lewis (196-94, college: Kansas St.) did not help to save the game for TS Ostrovia. Her fellow American import point guard Jordan Jones (168-93, college: Texas A&M) added 6 points and 8 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wisla Krakow have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gorzow Wlkp. TS Ostrovia at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Wisla Krakow's next round opponent will be CCC Polkowice (#8) on the road. TS Ostrovia will play against Sleza Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
