Regular Season Round 4: MKK Siedlce - Widzew 66-63

Bottom-ranked Widzew (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 66-63 loss to seventh ranked MKK Siedlce (2-1) in Siedlce. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-19. But Widzew won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MKK Siedlce made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Widzew turnovers. The winners were led by naturalized Ukrainian forward Oksana Mollov (188-88) who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American center Samantha Lapszynski (191-94, college: Niagara) supported her with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by American center Brandi Harvey-Carr (193-94, college: Pittsburgh) did not help to save the game for Widzew. International Roksana Schmidt (180-92) added 12 points and 8 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MKK Siedlce moved-up to sixth place, which they share with AZS UMCS. Widzew at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. MKK Siedlce's next round opponent will be Energa Torun (#9) on the road.
