No shocking result in a game when Peli-Karhut (2-0) beat Kouvottaret (0-2) in Kotka 71-62. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kouvottaret won third quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Akilah Sims (178-94, college: IUPUI) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Guard Daisha Simmons (178-91, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Brittany Carter (183-93, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and forward Whitney Frazier (180-92, college: Louisiana Tech) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Peli-Karhut's next round opponent will be Forssan Alku (#6) at home where they are favorite. Kouvottaret will play against Helmi Basket (#7) and hope to win that game.
