Regular Season Round 3: Lyon - Nantes 68-75

Quite upsetting was Lyon's (#4) home defeat in a game versus Nantes Reze 75-68. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lyon won third quarter 19-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was German Margret Skuballa (186-87) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian-British guard Shona Thorburn (178-82, college: Utah) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Four Nantes Reze players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke, agency: ProDep Management) who recorded 26 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Nantes Reze will meet at home Bourges (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lyon will play against Basket Landes in Mont de Marsan and hope to win that game.
