Regular Season Round 2: Lecco - Piacenza 95-73

There was a minor upset when Piacenza (1-1) was outscored on the road by Lecco (1-1) 95-73 on Sunday. Lecco outrebounded Piacenza 42-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Lecco looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Piacenza's players. Power forward Gaetano Spera (210-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Players Group) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Lecco's coach Massimo Meneguzzo felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Riccardo Pederzini (200-89, agency: Players Group) replied with 23 points and the former international guard Rodolfo Rombaldoni (193-77, agency: Players Group) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Piacenza. Lecco will face Forli Tigers (#9) on the road in the next round. Piacenza will play against Volpino (#16) and hope to win that game.
