Regular Season Round 2: Haneda Vickies - Denso Iris 75-97

Date: October 8, 2017
No shocking result in a game when Denso Iris (2-0) crushed Haneda Vickies (0-2) in Tokyo 97-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. Haneda Vickies managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Denso Iris dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Haneda Vickies' 44. Denso Iris forced 21 Haneda Vickies turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) notched 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) supported her with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Even 12 points and 6 assists by guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) did not help to save the game for Haneda Vickies. Guard Asuka Hiramatsu (162-94) added 13 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Denso Iris will meet at home Mitsubishi K. (#5) in the next round. Haneda Vickies will play against Fujitsu RW (#2) and hope to win that game.
