Regular Season Round 5: Nagoya DD - Ryukyu GK 81-85

Rather expected game in Nagoya where 4th placed Diamond Dolphins (1-3) were defeated by second ranked Ryukyu GK (3-1) 85-81 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 45-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. International forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners and American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) responded with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 8 other teams. Diamond Dolphins lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
