Regular Season Round 2: Saitama Bron. - Otsuka A. 78-76

Important game to mention about took place in Saitama. Saitama Broncos (3-1) saved a 2-point victory at home edging Otsuka A. (2-2) 78-76 on Sunday evening. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-13 Otsuka A.'s run in the last quarter cut the lead to 78-76 at the end of the game. Point guard Masaya Ueda (177-93) notched 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and point guard Nishi Yutaro (176-92) supported him with 17 points. Even 29 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Ray Raymond (203-84, college: Wisconsin) did not help to save the game for Otsuka A.. His fellow American import center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Saitama Broncos will play against Tokyo Cinq R. (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Otsuka A. will play against Kagoshima (#8) in Renova and hopes to get back on the winning track.
