Date: October 8, 2017
Very expected game when Tokyo Cinq R. (0-4) was crushed at home by Tokyo HT (4-0) 93-42 on Sunday. The game without a history. Tokyo HT led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tokyo Cinq R. to just 7 points in first and third quarters. Tokyo HT held Tokyo Cinq R. to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 56.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 52-27 including a 39-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tokyo HT looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Tokyo Cinq R.'s players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tokyo HT made 8 blocks. American forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) chipped in 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Senegalese point guard Pu Elliman (202-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Yohei Sakai (167-91) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo HT's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Excel..
