Regular Season Round 2: Ortona - Fabriano 96-66

Ortona used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Fabriano 96-66 on Sunday night. Ortona looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Fabriano's players. Point guard Gianluca Marchetti (178-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Alex Martelli (195-91) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Ortona players scored in double figures. Center Lorenzo Bruno (201-91) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Fabrizio Gialloreto (187-87) added 20 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Fabriano. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ortona will face Pescara (#8) on the road in the next round. Fabriano will play against Porto S.Elpidio (#3) and hope to win that game.
