There was a surprise result when Omnia Basket (1-1) beat Montecatiniterme (1-1) in Pavia 88-83 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Omnia Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. Forward Matteo Samoggia (200-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Swingman Saverio Mazzantini (195-95, agency: Players Group) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Giorgio Artioli (200-95, agency: Players Group) replied with 13 points and 9 rebounds and center Lorenzo Galmarini (200-95) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Montecatiniterme. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Omnia Basket will face Firenze All Foods on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Montecatiniterme will play against Valsesia (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
