Rather predictable result in Kariya where second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (3-1) defeated bottom-ranked Osaka Evessa (0-4) 81-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Osaka Evessa was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Osaka Evessa 40-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. The former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) stepped up and scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) chipped in 15 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward David Wear (208-90, college: UCLA) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Osaka Evessa's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid series of three victories in a row.
