Regular Season Round 2: Eurobasket Roma - Novipiu Casale 62-78

An interesting game where Novipiu Casale (#7) beat host Eurobasket Roma (#4) with 16-point difference 78-62 on Sunday evening. Novipiu Casale outrebounded Eurobasket Roma 42-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Brett Blizzard (191-80, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Novipiu Casale's coach Marco Ramondino used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Michael Deloach (184-86, college: Norfolk St.) responded with 20 points and point guard Alessandro Piazza (175-87) scored 16 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Novipiu Casale will meet at home Viola RC (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Eurobasket Roma will play against Bertram Tortona and hope to win that game.
