Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Lyon-Villeurbanne and 11th ranked Monaco had identical 1-2 record. But Monaco was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Villeurbanne 74-65 on Sunday night. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Monaco won second period 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Lyon-Villeurbanne won last quarter 21-14. Guard Theo Maledon (192-0) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Romain Poinas (203-98) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and DR Congolese Shekinah Munanga (201-97) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Lyon-Villeurbanne (2-2) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Le Portel. Loser Monaco keeps the eleventh position with three games lost. Lyon-Villeurbanne will face Le Portel (#9) at home in the next round. Monaco will play against the league's leader Cholet having rather not much hope for a victory.
